FAQs
What is the Chaplaincy?
The Chaplaincy provides all students – regardless of background, race, or religion – the opportunity to make lifelong friendships, serve those in need, ask big questions, and encounter God’s love. Inspired by our Catholic faith, we exist to help you spiritually and personally flourish at university
Where is the Chaplaincy located?
At the Horsforth Campus, the Chaplaincy is just up from the Atrium. At the City Campus, you can find us on the first floor.
Do I have to be religious to visit?
Not at all! Whether you’ve no faith, not sure what you believe, curious, or have faith, you are welcome here.
Who can use the Chaplaincy?
All students and staff (regardless of faith) are welcome to use the Chaplaincy. Whether it’s to make a cuppa, have a sit down in one of the lounges, or meet with a Chaplain – you are welcome here.
What events can I get involved with, and are they free?
There are plenty of events that suit a wide range of interests and are all free to attend – countryside walks, prayer, social events, helping the poor. Check out our events page here to see what’s coming up.
How do I find out more about Catholicism / Christianity?
Every year, we run Alpha which is a series of interactive sessions that freely explore the basics of the Christian Faith.
Alternatively, you can contact a chaplain here.
How do I meet with a Chaplain?
Email chaplaincyadmin@leedstrinity.ac.uk and a chaplain will respond to you.
What support do you offer
Sometimes it’s hard to know what support you need. So we offer a non-therapeutic, non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and be yourself. Whether your concerns are personal, social, academic or spiritual, we are here for you. We may signpost you to specialist support if necessary, but we are available to you if you ever appreciate a listening ear.
Do you offer support for other faiths?
Yes. Head to Meet the Team to check out the Chaplains from other faiths.
Can anyone use the Chapel?
Yes! Anyone, regardless of faith, is welcome to use the Chapel for quiet time, prayer, and reflection. We just ask that no food or drink (water is fine) be taken in to keep it suitable for prayer.
Is there an Interfaith Prayer Room?
Yes. At Horsforth, this is located on the Blue Corridor, and at the City Campus, the Interfaith Room is on the first floor. Both are equipped with wash facilities for Jummah.
